The University of Wisconsin-Platteville celebrated more than 900 graduates during its 214th commencement, held May 17. Three ceremonies were held on Bo Ryan Court, inside Williams Fieldhouse, where Chancellor Tammy Evetovich congratulated the graduates on their milestone and offered them advice on their next chapter.
“This is not the end of your learning journey; in fact, it is just beginning,” she said. “I hope you nurture the curiosity and desire for knowledge that brought you here in the first place. Let that spirit of lifelong learning guide you.”
The day began with the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture ceremony. Morgan Haas, an integrated marketing major from Rochelle, Illinois, delivered the senior speaker address. Dr. Clay Dean, a 2006 alumnus and general surgeon at Sauk Prairie Healthcare in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, gave words of advice as the ceremony’s principal speaker. Olivia Bramstedt was honored as the college’s valedictorian.
The second ceremony honored candidates from the College of Liberal Arts and Education, as well as all associate degree and master’s degree candidates. Dena Wortzel, executive director of Wisconsin Humanities, delivered the principal speaker address. Lindner, along with Brianna Giese, were honored as the college’s valedictorians.
The final ceremony of the day celebrated candidates from the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science.
